Second development meeting of FIRST-TAC project experts

From January 15 to 18, 2024, the second development meeting of the Erasmus+ FIRST-TAC project was held in Mastaičiai, Lithuania. The primary focus of this meeting was the development of detailed topic plans for the upcoming training program on the use of force and tactical medicine, specifically designed for first responding police officers. The foundation for these plans was the curriculum created during the first development meeting in Zagreb in November 2023.

Experts from the Lithuanian Police School, Police School in Slupsk (Poland), Agency for Education and Professional Training Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Police Academy - The First Croatian Police Officer (Croatia) worked in dedicated groups, focusing on use of force and tactical medicine respectively. This allowed for specialized expertise and tailored approaches to each training component.

The process led to valuable refinements in the curriculum, including optimizing the timeframe and topic sequence. The tactical medicine team began developing engaging learning materials for trainees, including presentations and a question bank for online modules. Leveraging the e-learning platform of the Croatian Police Academy, these materials will form an integral part of the blended learning approach being implemented in FIRST-TAC.

In preparation for the next project meeting, both groups will continue their work to refine and unify the training materials and curriculum, ensuring a comprehensive and coherent training program for European first responders.
